Every classical music buff owns at least 2 recordings of Beethoven's 9th (some collectors probably even have anywhere between 10 to 25 different versions) all of which have something different or special about them.

This recent recording should be added to your ever growing stack of CDs for many reasons. It has more drive, energy, momentum and sense of direction than many other versions I have heard, plus all the inner lines of the music are better exposed than most.

It is a powerful reading that should not be overlooked.
